Graduate School Overview

University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth) is located on the south coast of Massachusetts offering 25 master's and seven doctoral programs. Students throughout the world study programs in Marine Science and biomedical engineering and technology. New programs such as the doctorate in Nursing, Mathematics Education and the master's in public policy and psychology (applied behavior analysis) provide education on key contemporary issues. Other programs such as the MBA, artisanry, fine arts and visual design, chemistry, and Portuguese Studies create a well rounded culture of graduate studies for a diverse community of scholars who live and work in the surrounding area.

Distinctive initiatives and facilities that enhance research and education opportunities include the School for Marine Science & Technology(SMAST), located on the Atlantic Coast, where scientists do research in fisheries science. The Advanced Technology & Manufacturing Center where faculty and students partner with industry on technology ventures. The Star Store arts campus is located near studios and galleries providing students with modern, spacious studios. The Kaput Center for Research and Innovation in Mathematics where scholars are working to improve math comperhension and instructional approaches.
